Shangyang Acupuncture point – Li 1



Shang Yang(Li 1) or “Metal Yang” Acupuncture point – Large Intestine Meridian

Localization of point:

On the radial side of the forefinger approximately 1 fen (0,3 cm or 0,13 in) from the root of the nail.

Diseases:

  • pleurisy
  • asthma
  • intermittent fever
  • cerebral congestion
  • facial phlegmon
  • tonsillitis
  • atrophy of the oral muscles
  • stomatitis
  • laryngitis
  • toothache
  • deafness
  • tinnitus
  • jaws swollen
  • neuralgia and paralysis of the radialis nerve
  • glaucoma

Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment:

  • Acupuncture: 1 fen (0,33 cm or 0,13 in) (the tip of the needle is inserted obliquely a bit upward)
  • Moxibustion: 3 minutes; according to some chinese doctors is forbidden
