Xialian Acupuncture point – Li 8



Xia Lian (Li 8) or “Lower Ridge” Acupuncture point – Large Intestine Meridian

Localization of point:

1 cun (3,33 cm or 1,3 in) above the middle of the radial side of the forearm, i.e. betweeh the extensor digitorum muscle and the extensar carpi radialis brevis muscle.

Diseases:

  • aralysis of the urinary bladder
  • hematuria
  • spasms in the lower abdomen
  • borborygmus
  • pain in the cardiac region
  • asthma
  • bronchitis
  • pleurisy
  • pulmanary tuberculosis
  • mastitis
  • yellow urine

Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment:

  • Acupuncture: 3 – 5 fens (1 cm – 1,67 cm or 0,4 in – 0,66 in)
  • Moxibustion: 5 – 20 minutes; 3 – 7 zhuangs (moxa cones)
