Ying Xiang Acupuncture point – Li 20



Ying Xiang (Li 20) or “Welcome Fragrance” Acupuncture point – Large Intestine Meridian

Localization of point:

Above the nasolabialn sulcus, laterally from the alae of the nose, 5 fens (1,66 cm or 0,66 in) from the nostrils.

Diseases:

  • acute rhinitis
  • blocked nose
  • anosmia
  • epistaxis
  • nasal polyp
  • facial paralysis
  • facial phlegmon
  • asthma
  • nasal furuncle
  • The main point for·diseases of the nose. Good results are achieved in curing the drunkard’s nose in combination with the point Xia Bai L 4 and rhinitis in combination with the points Shang Xing Gv 23 and Ying Xiang Li 20.

Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment:

  • Acupuncture: 1 – 3 fens ( 0,33 cm – 1 cm or 0,13 in – 0,38 in)
  • Moxibustion: Moxibustion is usually forbidden. It is allowed only in the case when the patient lies supine with closed eyes. Mild moxibustion 3 – 5 minutes.
