Juliao Acupuncture point – S 3



Juliao (S 3 / ST 3) or “Great Bone-Hole” Acupuncture point – Stomach Meridian

Localization of point:

Just below the eyeball when looking directly ahead, about 8 fens (2,66 cm / 1,05 in) laterally from the nasal orifices, in the middle of the nasolabial sulcus in the levator labii superioris muscle, the root of the first molar.

Diseases:

  • facial paralysis
  • trigeminal neuralgia
  • keratitis
  • glaucomamyopia
  • white spots on the cornea
  • suppurative maxillary sinusitis
  • toothache
  • inflammation around the jaws and lips
  • facial neuralgia

Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatment:

  • Acupuncture: 3 – 4 fens ( 1 cm – 1,33 cm or 0,4 in – 0,53 in)
  • Moxibustion: 5 minutes / 5 zhuangs (moxa cones)
